It was an announcement fans had been eagerly awaiting! "Ah! Ça Ira", the incredible track performed by Gojira at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics, is now available on streaming platforms. For this track, which won over so many viewers, the French metal band was accompanied by Marina Viotti.

Remember: on July 26, Gojira set the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games alight. For several minutes, the metal band featuring the Duplantier brothers forcefully and angrily sang " Ah! Ça Ira ", the famous French revolutionary song, arranged for the occasion by musician and producer Victor Le Masne, who is also musical director of the Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies.

For this incredible performance, during which Gojira were suspended in the Conciergerie, the French metal band were accompanied by Marina Viotti. The opera singer revisited " L'Amour est un oiseau rebelle ", from Georges Bizet's opera Carmen.

Since then, many have been waiting for just one thing: for the track to be released on streaming platforms, so they could listen to it over and over again. And now it's done. On its social networks, Gojira has announced that " Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!) " is now available for streaming on Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music.

Since this assured performance at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, Gojira has seen the number of listens to its songs explode, with an increase of +106% in France and +80% worldwide on Spotify.

So, could the band also play this song live? The question remains unanswered. But many would love to see Gojira live in France. This year, Gojira only played one show in France. It was last April at the Ocean Fest in Biarritz. Next year, Gojira will play at several European festivals, including Dynamo Metalfest in the Netherlands, Summer Breeze and Reload Festival in Germany, Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic and Bloodstock in the UK. For the time being, no festival in France, but we hope that the Duplantier brothers and their acolytes will announce a date in the Hexagone very soon.
