Indochine, Måneskin, Linkin Park... the best-selling Rock & Metal albums of 2024 in France

Which Rock & Metal bands and artists sold the most albums in France in 2024? Are any French bands ranked? Find the answers with the ranking of the 200 best-selling records in the country last year, published on January 9 by Snep, the national phonographic publishing union.

It's a ranking eagerly awaited at the start of each year by many record companies and artists. On January 9, 2025, Snep, the national phonographic publishing union, published its ranking of the 200 best-selling albums in France in 2024.

Unsurprisingly, French urban music is best represented, with no fewer than 12 rappers ranked in the Top 20. Werenoi tops the podium, followed by PLK (2nd), SDM (8th), JUL (10th, 11th and 13th), Gazo x Tiakola (12th), Dadju and Tayc (15th), SCH (17th), Tiakola (18th) and Bouss (19th).

But what about rock and metal? Do artists and groups from these two musical trends feature in this ranking of the best-selling albums in France in 2024? As Snep reveals, only 4 groups and artists make it into the Top 50. Indochine, the famous French pop-rock band, comes third in this ranking, with its new opus"Babel Babel".

Then there's Italian band Måneskin (29th), with its"Rush!" album, followed by Linkin Park (35th), back with its"From Zero" opus. The American alternative rock band also ranks 38th with the album"Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000-2023)".

In another major development, 5 French projects stand out in the Top 20 best-selling Rock & Metal albums of 2024 in the country. In addition to Indochine, these include Shaka Ponk, Jean-Louis Aubert and Ultra Vomit.

For metal music fans, there's Britain's Judas Priest ( 23rd) and Bring Me The Horizon (24th), America's Falling in Reverse (25th), Germany's Rammstein ( 27th) and Sweden's Ghost ( 30th). American thrash metal band Metallica ( 38th) with their album"72 Seasons", Nightwish (41st), Bruce Dickinson (44th) and Marilyn Manson (50th) are also on the list.
