Sweden, France, Austria? Who will win the 69th Eurovision Song Contest? We'll find out on May 17, 2025, when the grand final takes place in Basel, Switzerland. In the meantime, several candidates are considered favorites, such as JJ, the Austrian representative. We tell you more about this artist, who will be performing her song "Wasted Love".

Which candidate will have the pleasure and privilege of winning the 69thEurovision Song Contest? Who will succeed Nemo, the Swiss representative and last year's winner? The answer will be given on May 17, 2025, when the grand final of the 69th Eurovision Song Contest takes place.

This year, 37 candidates are in the running, all determined to win. But only one of them will have the honor of standing on the top step of the podium. While many are hoping that Louane' s song " Maman " will win the day, following her 1977 triumph with Marie Myriam, several names are already considered favorites, such as JJ.

The Austrian candidate, of Filipino origin, is currently ranked second by bookmakers, who credit him with 22% (as of March 28, 2025).

So, who's behind those two letters? Real name Johannes Pietsch, JJ is far from an unknown in his homeland. The artist, who was born in Vienna in 2001 and grew up in Dubai before finally returning to the Austrian capital in 2016, is particularly well known in classical music circles. It has to be said that his vocal qualities as a countertenor are impressive. JJ has taken part in a number of classical productions, including The Magic Flute.

The artist also made a name for herself by taking part in Starmania and reaching the final of this TV show in 2021.

The Austrian-Filipino artist's bid for the top spot in the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest is a blend of pop and classical music. Entitled " Wasted Love ", the track was co-written by JJ and TEYA, Austria's representative at Eurovision 2023, alongside Salena.

So, will this effective, dynamic track enable JJ and Austria to win the 69th edition of Eurovision? For the time being, it's still too early to say. But according to the bookmakers, JJ is currently well placed for a place on the podium.

Austria has twice won the Eurovision Song Contest. The first victory came in 1966 with"Merci, chérie" byUdo Jürgens. Then, in 2014, the country won the contest once again with Conchita Wurst's"Rise Like a Phoenix".
