In May, music also takes center stage in Paris and elsewhere in the Île-de-France region. The spring season is the perfect time for national and international artists to warm up in concert halls before touring the various summer festivals. As always, all musical styles are represented: from French variety to rock, from K-pop to metal, from electro to rap and R&B, from classical music to blues & jazz... Eclecticism is the order of the day, to satisfy the tastes and desires of as many people as possible.
And there's no shortage of concert and performance venues in Paris and the Ile-de-France region to host these diverse styles, defended with strength and passion by numerous artists. There are, of course, major venues such as the Paris La Défense Arena, located in the Hauts-de-Seine department, and theAccor Arena, a legendary venue nestling in the east of the capital. Other venues also feature live music. These include the Zénith de Paris,Olympia, Philharmonie, Salle Pleyel, Trianon, Folies Bergère, Grand Rex andÉlysée Montmartre.
And if you prefer more intimate venues to get up close and personal with your favorite artists, then head for La Maroquinerie, La Cigale, Le Trabendo, La Gaîté Lyrique, La Boule Noire or Petit Bain and Cabaret Sauvage.
Proof that Paris attracts artists of all kinds, Linkin Park, Taylor Swift, Sum 41, Nick Cave, Lindsey Stirling, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top, Beth Gibbons, PJ Harvey and Shaka Ponk have all stopped off in the capital in recent months to meet their many fans.
