The iconic Lido cabaret becomes Lido2Paris: bye-bye revues, please welcome musical theater

The Lido is one of the most iconic cabarets in Paris. The announcement of its closing sparked strong emotion in the city. Now, the phenix rises from its ashes and becomes Lido2Paris. Although this change marks the end of the famous revues, the cabaret now specialized in musical theater.

Victim of the health crisis, the iconic Lido Paris cabaret announced its famous revues were ending. Some news that was quite emotional for the city. Taken over in December 2021 by Accor group, this iconic landmark in the City of Lights now moves to the presidency of Jean-Luc Choplin – former director of the Théâtre du Châtelet. On social networks, the Lido shared a first glimpse of its new identity. The cabaret also has a new name. Please welcome Lido2Paris.

No more revues with the Bluebell girls dancing since 1946 in this legendary venue. The renewal of the Lido keeps the cabaret spirit but now tends to musical theater. In a release published this Friday September 9, 2022, read more about the upcoming program of this phenix rising from its ashes.

Jean-Luc Choplin then promises “original and event creations of musical theater in a cabaret spirit” that Parisians and tourists will be able to discover every year. And for their first show, Lido2Paris is to unveil a musical called “Cabaret”, starting from December 1. The circle is then complete.
