The greatest French masters reunited for the first time in Paris... The Musée Maillol is devoting an exhibition to the collection of German industrialist Emil Bührle from March 20 to July 21, 2019. In all, some sixty masterpieces are brought together in a single exhibition.
Emil Georg Bührle was a German art collector who collected over 600 works of art between 1951 and 1956. For the first time in Paris, part of this collection, one of the most prestigious in the world, is presented at the Musée Maillol .
The exhibition offers a panorama of French art from the 19th to the early 20th century, and covers several trends inmodern art: the great names of Impressionism (Manet, Monet, Pissarro, Degas, Renoir, Sisley) and Post-Impressionism (Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec), the early 20th century with the Nabis (Bonnard, Vuillard), the Fauves and Cubists (Braque, Derain, Vlaminck), and the École de Paris (Modigliani), ending with Picasso.
So look forward to discovering and contemplating many masterpieces ... and feasting your eyes on them! Degas ' La petite danseuse de quatorze ans (circa 1880), Monet 's Les coquelicots près de Vétheuil (circa 1879), Cézanne 's Le garçon au gilet rouge (circa 1888/90), Van Gogh 's Le semeur au soleil couchant (1888).... So many masters to discover or rediscover for a high-flying artistic experience.
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
