The Centre des arts d'Enghien-les-Bains invites us into the future. The Dream Craftsmen exhibition features a selection of short films created by students at ArtFX Academy, the Paris branch of the eponymous school based in Nimes and Montpellier. On view free of charge from January 31 to April 11, 2020.
Students are both the artisans of dreams and the architects of the shadows, their professions often unknown to the public... And an exhibition that highlights"the behind-the-scenes aspects of visual creation, presenting models and preparatory drawings, costumes and set elements". These "cinema objects" are"the traces and archives of the filming process, allowing us to sketch a portrait of certain characters, or to mentally relive some of the key scenes in a story". This retrospective also takes a look at how special effects are created,"to augment reality or create a fully-fledged three-dimensional virtual space, a magical transposition of reality".
The exhibition Science-fiction: les artisans du rêve (Science-fiction: the artisans of dreams) is launched on the occasion of the Paris Images Trade Show festival, dedicated to special effects. Whether you're a fan of cinema, science fiction or new technologies, this exhibition is a must-see for learning and dreaming about what the future holds!
