Levitation, an ability that still fascinates... And when it's used in art, the result is a stunning exhibition, The Levitation Project, atEspace Commines from June 1 to 4, 2023. An exhibition presented for the very first time by multi-disciplinary artist Mathieu Forget, also known as Forgetmat or"Flying Man". This unprecedented retrospective transports the public into Forgetmat's creative and poetic universe, where levitation becomes a means of expression for this talented artist, mastering dance, performance, photography and art direction.
In the heart of the Marais district, in an ephemeral 700m2 space, the exhibition features over 30 works, performances and workshops to be experienced live. Forgetmat highlights architecture, lines and colors to create dizzying, poetic concepts, offering a unique visual and immersive experience. The public can try their hand at the art of movement, defy weightlessness and immerse themselves in spaces created especially for the occasion. The artist will also be inviting other talents, such as street artist Jordane Saget, whose work is shaping Paris.
An exhibition that the editors were able to discover in advance. Forgetmat 's works are elegantly displayed in the spacious and luminousEspace Commines. Each detail, each color stands out, revealing a harmonious and powerful whole. Levitating in each of his works, the artist focuses on what makes us who we are, reminding us that it's the universe that revolves around us, not the other way around. Each leap, each position is also designed to enhance the surrounding environment. Visitors are invited to download an application to enjoy a behind-the-scenes augmented-reality video of the various shoots, in place of the works themselves. A beautiful and striking exhibition to discover for all photography lovers!
Labelled a Cultural Olympiad by Paris 2024, this exhibition showcases sport through original collaborations with athletes such asEnzo Lefort, Florent Manaudou and Romane Dicko. Born into a family of athletes, Forgetmat grew up in the world of sport and has traveled the globe from an early age. His nomadic background and experiences probably influenced his desire to take flight, both literally and figuratively. An opportunity to dive into the fascinating world of Forgetmat and discover the art of levitation from a new angle. Want to come along?
