Attention street art fans! Galerie La Lison awaits you to discover its latest exhibition featuring the works of street artist Goin, Santa Claus doesn't exist, from December 7, 2023 to January 16, 2024. Goin, a committed artist and emblematic figure of street art, uses his stencils and spray paint cans not simply as artistic tools, but as instruments of peaceful resistance to spread essential truths in urban space.
Goin stands out in the street art world for his direct approach and trenchant social commentary. Gaining international recognition in the 90s, he follows in the footsteps of the Dada and punk movements of the 70s, making him a veritable"mindshaker". His socially and politically critical works are characterized by a striking aesthetic, black humor and stinging sarcasm, questioning corruption and stimulating public debate. Figures such as Jérôme Catz and Futura 2000 have praised his work, recognizing its crucial role in promoting freedom of expression and stimulating public discourse.
The exhibition at Galerie La Lison is not just a presentation of Goin 's art; it also becomes a manifesto of resistance and consciousness-raising. A highlight of the exhibition is a fascinating installation created in collaboration with 4,000 children aged 4 to 18 from all over the world. This installation, composed of children's Christmas greetings, highlights their perspectives on global issues such as peace, justice and environmental protection. It poignantly highlights how the wishes of the very young are often overlooked in a world marked by conflict and suffering.
An opportunity to dive into Goin's revolutionary and inspiring universe, and immerse yourself in the young generation's perspectives on our world. And why not go in search of the street artist's three works on walls in the heart of Paris (around République...)? Shall we drop in?
