"2025 marks my 25th year as an artist. This year also coincides with the 15th anniversary of the eruption of the EYIAFJÖLL volcano, a milestone in my career. In April 2010, I was on my way to New York to exhibit my ÉCHANGEURS series, when the volcano's eruption blocked my work, disrupting much of the world's air traffic. This unforeseen event prompted me to improvise a monumental fresco entitled THE VOLCANO IS EATING MY WORKS - THIS IS MY DETERMINISM.

"This episode resonated with my personal history: LE VOLCAN DU HAVRE, my hometown's house of culture erected by OSCAR NIEMEYER, was a structuring symbol of my childhood. It embodies what has shaped me: family, culture, society, iconography, but also more insidious transgenerational transmissions that have become a kind of family ghost. Ghosts that, like extinct volcanoes, traverse time and hold the promise or threat of reawakening at any moment...

The eruption of EYIAFJÖLL and LE VOLCAN DU HAVRE both illustrate the external and internal forces that shape our lives. Inspired by the Sneffels volcano and the voyage of initiation described by Jules Verne in VOYAGE AU CENTRE DE LA TERRE, I embarked on my own quest, through analysis, hypnosis and genealogy, translated and artistically declined in multiple series: Equilibre / Traces de famille / Schéma directeur / Echangeur / Accidents / Jumpers / I try to kill the Volcano / Mon Havre / Video Game Glitches / Impression de déjà vécu / Green Desire / Lign(é)es Troubl(é)es / Défragmentation/ This enabled me to " KILL THE VOLCANO ", or at least to tame its seismic tremors.

With the exhibition IKILL THE VOLCANO, I celebrate this ability to transform accidents and constraints into opportunities. This project questions our free will in a world that often seems to deny it, while affirming an optimistic vision of the volcano as an engine of rebirth and fertile creation."
