This group of French artists was born in the early 1980s, and is still active today. After a 40-year career, and a long influence on urban art, the art center Fluctuart has decided to pay tribute to VLP (Vive La Peinture), in a retrospective exhibition presented from January 16 to March 9, 2025.
Pioneers of street art, this group, now made up of Michel Espagnon and Jean Gabaret, has had a major impact on French art, and in particular on the growth and recognition of urban art.
The Before/After exhibition takes us on a journey through time. An exhaustive tour retraces the 40-year career of French street artists, from their first spray-paintings in the Halles district to exhibitions in the most prestigious museums and art galleries.
Numerous works are brought together, showing the evolution of VLP, the changes in techniques and mediums, the birth of their emblematic symbols, the important themes that run through their work... Special and exceptional works have been brought together in this exhibition, to illustrate each important period in VLP's career.
Fluctuart pays tribute to these key figures inFrench urban art, and allows visitors to discover in detail the works and values of this committed group.
