How about a chic snack with a whole host of delicious pastries? Come and discover the creations of Angelo Musa, World Pastry Champion and Meilleur Ouvrier de France, andAlexandre Dufeu, head pastry chef at theHôtel Plaza Athénée.
Together, they have imagined a snack for the most gourmand of palates, featuring the pastries and gourmet creations that have marked the history ofAngelo Musa.
Presented as a Tea Time on 3 floors, it's in fact a real gourmet snack that's on offer at the Plaza Athénée every day from 2pm to 7pm in the Galerie. Forget salty foods, travel cakes and scones, Angelo's afternoon tea is a true tribute to pastry.
The Tiramisu, for example, is a must-have and, as you'd expect, a tribute to its roots. With its strong coffee flavor, airy mascarpone cream, Marsala and a hint of Sicilian wine, it's sure to delight.
There's also the Paris-Valence, a reinterpretation of the Paris Brest but 100% almond. Not very sweet, this creamy, gourmet pastry with its almond praline should delight you.
Another of the chef's must-haves is his cake, discovered during his years at Oberweis. A creation he reinterprets here in a hazelnut version. Both moist and melt-in-your-mouth, with a good taste of hazelnut, we love it.
Chocolate lovers will fall for Papilio, the powerful chocolate entremets with a hint of fleur de sel, which helped the chef win the Pastry World Cup in 2003.
New products include the seasonal tart, here in a fig version. With its fig leaf-infused fig confit insert, this pastry is fresh and surprising.
We can't talk about Angelo Musa without thinking of his sumptuous 100% vanilla. Here, he offers a seasonal pear version, bringing freshness and lightness to this emblematic dessert.
Next, we fall for the excellent chocolate-lemon Merveille, which conceals a meringue and a heart-shaped cookie.
Add to this the coconut marshmallow and raspberry fruit pastelollipop, the chocolate-coated caramel and pecan shortbread, the almond-hazelnut praline truffle , caramel-passion ganache and gianduja and the hot drink and we're in Paradise . And if that's not enough, there's still the Pâtisserie trolley!
Note that this tea time is available in a Champagne version instead of the hot drink, or in a Tea Time version with a savory accompaniment (croque-Plaza or finger-style club sandwich).
Wouldn't you just love a gourmet snack?
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
