Welcome to Comptoir Général, the place where you'll love having brunch this weekend! Conceived as an open-air art gallery, the place invites you to travel and, as soon as you step through the front door, transports you into a timeless room.
Embark on a brunch in the heart of the tropical jungle, where children will have great adventures aboard thehuge pirate ship and you'll find yourself completely disconnected. At Comptoir Général, you immediately feel like you're no longer in Paris, and in the end, that's what you want every Saturday and Sunday morning.
The menu starts with the day's pastries, sourdough bread, a hot drink and a squeezed fruit juice, followed by a choice of starter, main course and dessert. You'll be spoilt for choice between salmon gravlax served with blinis, the excellent perfect egg served with butternut and chestnut cream, followed by scallops from Erquy orcod meunière with mashed potatoes... For dessert, you'll find classic French dishes, with chocolate moelleux served with crème anglaise, orange salad with cinnamon or tiramisu.
If Le Comptoir offers a starter-main course-dessert menu in addition to the viennoiseries at the start, it's because the portions aren't huge, and in the end it's a real success, since the fish is perfectly cooked, the tastes and textures blend very well and you can feel the quality and freshness of the products in every bite. For kids, there's a special children's menu with a choice of main course and dessert.
It's a brunch where you take the time to sit down and spend one, two or three hours together as a family, in the timeless setting of Le Comptoir. Children aged 3 and over will love the board games, coloring, books and other activities on the pirate ship, while parents will appreciate the soothing atmosphere, perfect for a Sunday outing.
The Comptoir Général is inspired by a cabinet of curiosities, a place that looks like a souvenir gallery, where you come face to face with all sorts of fishing rods, large stuffed fish, a giant aquarium and fish hooks. In fact, that's kind of the point: to turn the Comptoir into a fishing museum, where you can discover historic accessories after, during or before your weekend brunch.
When the weather's fine, you'll also love the lovely, leafy outdoor terrace. Expect to pay €39 per adult and to take part in this immersive, gourmet and, above all, exotic brunch.
