In the 11th arrondissement, the Corner des Pâtissier.e.s brings together several Parisian vegan specialists in a single location. Currently on display are the original creations of three pastry chefs: Eolia, Papillexotiques and Jo and Nana Cakes. VG Pâtisserie, which revisits French classics in a vegan version, is also offering its creations at the corner.
Before it became this crossroads, the place was reserved for raw patisserie, which is still struggling to establish itself in France, whereas it's exploding across the Channel. Particularly good for the health, raw allows vitamins and nutrients to be better preserved. At Le Corner des Pâtissier.e.s, in the same spirit of offering healthy products, some pastries are gluten-free, in addition to being vegan.
In France, few vegan restaurants and patisseries yet exist. This is due to a French backwardness, linked to a poor knowledge of veganism and prejudices. This corner was born of a desire to bring together lovers of gourmet cakes and pastries in one place in Paris, and to make them more accessible.
Among the mouth-watering pastries on offer, we tasted the incredible tarte amandine, with pears and dark chocolate, topped with golden hazelnuts - a real favorite! The matcha and white chocolate cookie goes perfectly with green tea, thanks to its melting center and crunchy texture. The pear-cardamom dome is as beautiful as it is delicious, with its light, gluten-free sponge cake and soy milk hot chocolate.
