Madame Sarfati's brunch is the brunch of comedian Fary 's comedy club. Located a stone's throw from the Bourse de Commerce, the brunch is an opportunity to try delicious blends of flavors, in an unusual setting .
Madame Sarfati, open since 2019, has a bar, a dining room and a large stand-up room upstairs, where photos are prohibited. The entire comedy club is considered a work of art, signed JR in collaboration with artists Takao and Dirby. The dining room is carefully decorated in subdued lighting. The ceiling features a black-and-white photo of a number of comedians in a circle, a decor that immerses us in the world of humor .
At Madame Sarfati's, there's no formula. The menu includes a variety of hot and cold drinks to accompany your meal, at reasonable prices. As for the dishes, you can choose between several savory and sweet plates, to share or not. We started by sharing three salty plates, but for two people, two is enough, as the dishes are copious.
The menu offers a mix of Western and Oriental flavors. Madame Sarfati's chakchouka with cheese naan is well worth a visit. Chakchouka is a pan-fried bell pepper cooked in tomato sauce, with chili pepper and poached eggs added at the end. Perfectly balanced in terms of flavor, eating it with cheese naan makes for a very gourmet and comforting dish.
We move on to the plantain pancakes, accompanied by crispy chicken, onion compote and hibiscus syrup. On your plate, you'll find three large pieces of crispy chicken, dipped in a spicy mayonnaise that's really good. In the center of the plate, a mountain of fluffy pancakes, topped with onion compote and plantains, adds a surprisingly tasty sweetness.
We finish our savory dishes with the croissant and poached egg with smoked salmon, chive cream cheese, avocado, red onion, mango and passion fruit. The croissant is pre-cut, with the salmon and accompaniments inside, and the poached egg on the side. A gourmet croissant with the exotic flavors of mango and passion fruit.
On the sweet side, we chose to share the hibiscus brioche perdue with kiwi, mango, passion fruit, hibiscus mascarpone and hibiscus coulis, a delicious and beautifully presented dessert. The brioche is soft and blends well with the hibiscus mascarpone. The fruit adds a freshness that's very pleasant at the end ofa hearty meal. The dessert itself is extremely copious, and you can choose between the brioche and two types of pancake: a pistachio pancake and a banana and chocolate pancake .
Madame Sarfati's brunch, in addition to taking place in a magnificent dining room, is a real feast for the eyes and taste bud s. The plates are an explosion of colors and flavors. Even without a menu, the value for money is excellent if you take a savoury dish, a sweet dish and a drink. We can't wait to go back! The comedy club does not offer a brunch + show package, so tickets must be taken separately .
