For lovers of good ice cream, La Glacerie Paris is a new address to try out in the Marais district. A stone's throw from the BHV, at 13 rue du Temple, David Wesmaël has just opened his ice cream shop, just in time for summer 2018. World pastry champion in 2006 and Meilleur Ouvrier de France glacier in 2004, David Wesmaël's first store offers delicious ice creams to eat in or take away, alone or with friends.
First of all, there are the ice creams and sorbets, to be enjoyed in cones or small pots: homemade caramel ice cream with fleur de sel, strawberry sorbet Gariguette from La Baule, milk chocolate ice cream Mendiant style, Mûroise sorbet, fromage blanc ice cream from Normandy, banana sorbet, Pistachio ice cream from Sicily... You won't know where to turn. In all: 17 authentic flavors, each more gourmet than the last.
If you're the kind of person who likes to share ice cream (yes, there is such a thing!), David Wesmaël has invented cylindrical ice cream in a tube- a great innovation! According to the MOF, making scoops of ice cream in a tub can be complicated. With his ingenious cylinders, gourmets simply cut slices of ice cream from the tube, and can create frozen desserts in no time at all, by stacking several slices of different flavors. Add some fruit, a coulis and you're ready to go!
At Glacerie Paris, you'll also find Dômes Envies, delicious frozen entremets, to be enjoyed solo or in a size that lends itself to sharing (again, it's up to you!). A base of crunchy meringue, two or three icy flavors that combine perfectly... fromage blanc ice cream/blackberry sorbet/mango coulis; dark chocolate ice cream/blackcurrant sorbet/passionate mango confit; mango-vanilla ice cream/milk chocolate cream/passionate mango sorbet; or strawberry sorbet/caramel ice cream/lemon confit. We warn you, the choice is a Cornelian one between the 9 large-format Envies, and the 8 small-format Envies.
Other sweet treats created by David Wesmaël include bonbons glacés, a delicious blend of ice cream and chocolate, and chocolate bars that will make you forget in one bite those you can find in supermarkets.
La Glacerie Paris is a colorful, mouth-watering ice cream shop to discover without delay!
