Hôtel Duo set in rue du Temple, launches an Afternoon Tea in partnership with pastry chef Kévin Lacote. Feel like discovering a cozy place to have a gourmet break on the week? We tell you everything about this new gourmet spot.

Hôtel Duo is a 4-star hotel ideally set in the Marais, facing the BHV and a stone’s throw from the City Hall. It’s a family hotel displaying a beautiful decorum both modern and original designed by Jean-Philippe Nuel.

On the ground floor, looking on the street, the hotel houses a lounge-bar/tea room with varied eclectic spaces: bright patio, sofa area, cozy armchairs and private tables create the décor.

This hotel, rather unknown by Parisians, has decided to launch its Afternoon Tea to discover on weekends, Saturdays and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. To do so, they asked a pastry chef to design a gourmet and qualitative menu.

Kevin Lacote, trained at beautiful and Michelin-starred house and we now know for his irresistible tea shop in Paris 17th arrondissement (KL Pâtisserie) joins the adventures, delighted to return to the hotel trade, a field he knows well.

His motto? Making you happy with fresh, quality and seasonal produces and without any colorant.

So, available on the teatime menu, we find a selection of hot drinks going from the cappuccino to the hot cocoa without forgetting Mariage Frères teas. Then, a selection of the chef’s pastries, pastries that will change over the course of the seasons.

For this holiday season, we fall for the revisited Mont Blanc with a chestnut cream, a blueberry confit and a Swiss meringue heart.

If you love the chef’s iconic pastry but the 17th arrondissement is too far, you’ll be happy to discover that the Kara Damia is on the menu. Semi-salted caramel, coconut dacquoise cake, milk and Macadamia nuts mousse topping a sugar dough, it’s to die for.

Lemon pie enthusiasts will treat themselves to the Jaune Limone while choco-addicts will go for the Bel Helen, a lovely mix of Tonka bean chocolate, pear confit and shortbread.

You’re more into soft cake or cookie (maybe even both), gourmet cakes, financiers, madeleines and cookies are also available and taste oh-so good!

In short, if you happen to be near the BHV or the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville and look for a lovely tea shop to have a seat and grab a bite, remember the address!

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
