While some pastries already have their own festival, such as the flan festival, it's now time for the millefeuille to shine, with the first edition of the Festival du Millefeuille 2024 at the Raymond Devos house-museum in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse (78). Calling all fans of this classic French pastry!
On October 5, 2024, the Raymond Devos Foundation and the Confédération Nationale de la Boulangerie-Pâtisserie Française are jointly organizing this gourmet event. So, what exactly does this have to do with Raymond Devos? Well, it's inspired by one of the French humorist's most emblematic sketches, a master in the art of wordplay.
On site, the region's best bakers and artisans are invited to imagine their own version of the millefeuille; but they will also have to write an original and humorous text on the theme of the famous dessert. A highly original day that combinesculinary excellence and writing; but also a good opportunity to visit the artist's house-museum, which opened in 2016 and where his works and personal objects are preserved and exhibited.
But you still don't know which one is the best! The public is of course invited to the event, and will even be able to taste the 6 competing millefeuilles free of charge, from 3.30pm. Frankly, why miss out?
