It's bad news for Lyon's gastronomic scene, but good news for Parisian foodistos: the Michelin-starred restaurant Le Passe Temps will close its doors on December 14, in Lyon's 6th arrondissement, before moving to Paris. Opened in 2014 by Korean chef Younghoon Lee, the establishment had earned its first Michelin macaron two years later, in 2016.
10 years after opening its doors, Le Passe Temps has arrived in Paris, under the same name and with the same concept (the restaurant combines French and Korean cuisine), because it couldn't... stay in Lyon! Indeed, chef Younghoon Lee had hoped to find a larger establishment, but having failed to find the rare gem in the capital of the Gauls, it's in the capital itself that his restaurant will reopen at the end of next year, or even in early 2026.
"The Passe Temps adventure is coming to an end, the restaurant will close its doors on December 14. For the past 10 years, with our team, our producers and our artisans, we've enjoyed welcoming you to discover our passion for gastronomic cuisine. After these wonderful years in Lyon, it's time for us to write a new chapter in Paris. We'd like to thank you for all the moments we've spent together, and for all those to come", writes the chef on the restaurant's website.
By moving, Le Passe Temps will lose its Michelin star. Only to regain it immediately? Only time will tell!
