This is the kind of restaurant you should try with your friends rather than your partner to share a huge rib steak and a good bottle of wine whilst chatting around the table.
L’Etable is born from the desire to eat well in a beautiful place. Ceilings are high and windows are huge, though we feel like we are far from the outside world. Indoor architect Imaad Rahmouni wanted a brown-colored cocoon with raw wood for the counter and the smart tables, with globe chandeliers. The whole room is warmed up with animal skins.
Here we talk about the meat and their producers as if these latter were friends and the meat is even more tender. Offered as a rib steak, prime rib of beef for two or three, sirloin steak, it tastes mild (it shall mature for at least four weeks), round and well-seasoned (what a treat!) Delicate mouths will try the veal or the poultry from Bresse and vegetarian friends can enjoy light and delicious boards to share such as the mushroom salad with green apple, the artichoke cooked like at home and seasonal asparagus.
Let’s talk a bit more seriously now. The bill is steep (about €40 per person including side dishes and drinks), but the place is very lovely, so you can go there for a birthday or reunions. Here is a secret: the chocolate tart is worth the steep bill. You will leave L’Etable with a full belly and pink cheeks.
