I declare the Les Fables de la Fontaine terrace season open!
Indeed, the famous restaurant set in rue Saint-Dominique welcomes you in a quiet setting, at the foot of the Fontaine de Mars.
Chef Mehdi Karamane ruling over the kitchen since January 2018 offers you a fresh and iodized menu with big fishes.
For example, as a starter, you can have the mullet tartare, citrus fruits, sumac, sesame and almond condiment (€19), the red mulet, buckwheat crust, iodized salad (€22).
Then, the roasted meagre, cabbage declination, virgin sauce, pistachio and cilantro (€26), the pan-fried squids, black olives, sweet peppers, wild rice and chorizo (€26), without forgetting the irresistible steamed white fishes, sliced vegetables, fish soup with garlic and saffron (€32).
As well as the fish of the day, later in the season with lobster, jumbo shrimps and XXL fishes to share with several people.
If you feel you have some room left for a sweet treat, go for the coconut Streusel with matcha tea flavors, grapefruit sorbet (€14) or a apple soufflé, heart of apple and mint (€12). For those who are not really into fish, don’t worry, other suggestions are on the menu too.
A lunch menu is provided from Monday to Friday (€28)
The opening of the terrace is the perfect occasion to (re)discover the fair and inventive cuisine of the former Jules Verne sous-chef, Mehdi Karamane. And to treat us to a chic and gourmet break, safe from the Parisian liveliness.
