Yeah France! A French has just won, on July 7, 2018, World’s Best Lobster Roll! This French is Moïse Sfez. It’s in Portland, United-States, the homeland of the famous sandwich that faced off10 competitors, lobster roll professionals, during a unique competition: the Down East Lobster Roll World Championship.
Only French participant (and even European!) taking part in the Lobster Roll World Championship, Moïse Sfez won the title with flying colors thanks to his famous recipe: the Connecticut. We must say that Moïse Sfez was well prepared by seeking advice from 3 Michelin-star chef Eric Frechon.
Inside the Connecticut, Breton lobster served lukewarm, lemony butter and a secret herb mix, the whole served in a buttered and toasted brioche bread created by baker Thierry Racoillet.
For Moïse Sfez’s marvelous lobster rolls, you don’t need to go all the way to Portland to taste them. In February 2018, the young chef opened Homer Lobster, his first French lobster roll delicatessen where you can enjoy classic or twisted lobster rolls as well as crab rolls or grilled cheese sandwich.
You can also go to the Bar Long of Hôtel Royal Monceau to enjoy, in the devoted pop-up store, his lobster rolls since June 2018!
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
