Just a stone's throw from the Champs-Elysées, we've found a restaurant that's just opened its doors. It's good, healthy and, above all, affordable. Imagine: starters between 6 and 12€, main courses between 13 and 18€, desserts between 5 and 7€ and a lunch menu at 19.90€. A dream for this neighborhood, don't you think? The name of this good address is Lily Wood, rue de Ponthieu! Inside, midnight-blue walls and velvet armchairs welcome you. Everything is done with taste. And the menu is just as inspiring.
Starters include salmon tartare with yuzu, seaweed and crispy puffed rice (12€) and a salad of red cabbage, orange supremes, candied yuzu peel, cucumber and orange blossom (7€). As well as being refreshing, the salad is a pleasure to look at, so colorful is it. Also on the menu, burrata, roasted pink radish, zucchini tagliatelle, fresh herb vinaigrette, raspberries (12€) or eggs mimosa with tuna, fresh herbs, capers and olives, mesclun (6€). The choice is yours!
But let's move on to the main courses. There's a sea bream, artichoke hearts, lemon confit, black rice, roasted cherry tomatoes (15€), a yellow Bresse chicken leg confit with herbs, seasonal greens, meat jus, white rice (18€) and a healthy salad of the moment, featuring buckwheat soba, steamed broccoli, roasted carrots, bean sprouts, honey-sweet-spice-smoked tofu, roasted radishes (13€).
But for us, it's flank steak, green and yellow zucchini crumble, parmesan, turmeric, wasabi mayonnaise (but you can choose a curry mayonnaise, if you're not too wasabi) for 18€. The zucchini crumble was a big surprise and simply delicious. Then there's the duck breast tataki, red cabbage kimchi, green melon, seasonal vegetables, homemade purée with spices and wakame (18€) accompanied by a surprising (but excellent!) smoked hummus.
When it comes to desserts, Lily Wood is all about good, healthy products. So you'll find mainly fruity desserts. There's a choice of artisanal ice creams (5€ for both flavors), a light pavlova with coconut whipped cream, seasonal fruits, hazelnuts, olive oil and pink salt (6€), roasted apricots, basil oil, raw cream and super-delicate thyme ice cream (5€) and a mango and passion fruit tiramisu; the dessert of the day!
So if you're looking for a restaurant to have lunch next to the Champs-Elysées, you'll want to check out Lily Wood. You'll eat well, healthily and without breaking the bank. You can even go there with friends in the evenings and at weekends, as Lily Wood offers platters and tasty dishes to share! And don't forget their mocktails made with fresh fruit, perfect for summer!
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
