Behind this new place is above all a story, that of Charly and Victor. Both passionate about good food, they came across the cookbook of Charly's great-great aunt, Marie-Louise Bellanger.
In it, they discovered the secrets of the real Boeuf Bourguignon, the beautiful history of sole meunière, the timeless Parisian croque-monsieur... In short, all the most traditional local recipes. These classics are now on the menu at Brasserie Bellanger.
On a mission to revive the typical Parisian brasserie, Victor and Charly focus on French cuisine prepared with ultra-well-sourced produce from their favorite small-scale producers.
With a menu renewed every week, Brasserie Bellanger appeals to the taste buds of Parisians with cheese and charcuterie platters ranging from €7 to €13, featuring, for example, beef jerky with green pepper, Ibaïama ham, truffled white ham and even truffled sausage.
Starters are priced between €2 and €7. Enough to treat yourself to a whole host of them! Bulots et spicy mayo (7€), céleri rémoulade (5€), frisée aux lardons (5€). For us, it's eggs mayo (2€), the indestructible classic of Parisian bistros; Mamie Bellanger rillettes (7€), based on poultry and perfectly seasoned; and leeks snacked with vinaigrette (6€), another classic spiced up here with churned butter croutons and an excellent vinaigrette.
As for the main courses, the à la carte menu includes grilled skirt steak (15€), beef tartare (13€), salade niçoise (15€)... All of these typically French dishes clearly catch our eye, but we finally settle on the unmissable saucisse purée (13€) with its genuine Aveyronnaise sausage knife, 8-hour simmered gravy and churned salted butter purée.
And don't miss out on the Croque-Monsieur (10€), Brasserie Bellanger 's best-selling dish, which you can choose Madame (with egg), or with optional truffled ham. Inside, a chiffonade of farmhouse Auvergne ham and old Comté cheese melts as much as we do in front of this gourmet dish.
For dessert, we opt for the tartelette of the day, with raspberries and redcurrants, and for the Paris-Brest, praline to perfection.
