You've got a hankering for a pizza, but your friend prefers a tasty dish from the South of France? We've got the solution! From September 20, 2019, La Riviera welcomes you to the 10th arrondissement, with its eclectic and delicious concept.
Behind this new address are David and Lionel, the famous duo already behind La Maison Bleue and Les Fauves. For La Riviera, the pair have imagined a warm, light-filled setting for up to 110 guests. In addition to its open kitchen and enormous pizza oven, we loved the imposing bar in the shape of a ship's hull.
As for the menu, La Riviera opts for diversity, with pizzas signed by master pizza maker Giuseppe Corbo. No Neapolitan pizzas here, but rather long-fermented dough-based pizzas inspired by the Romans. On the menu? Classics like the'Margherita', but also totally new, original and seasonal creations, like the'C'est en Septembre' pizza with pumpkin, veal pastrami, fried tarragon and smoked scamorza.
In addition, La Riviera pays tribute to the cuisine of southeastern France with bistronomic dishes concocted by the talented Aurélien Jame, who has worked at the Bristol, Taillevent, Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux and Tour d'Argent as sous-chef. For La Riviera, for example, the Chef has imagined a pissaladière to share, or a bouillabaisse married to the noble lamb's lettuce of monkfish, served with an iodized jus, fennel and a saffron potato mousseline.
To satisfy your taste buds, La Riviera also relies on quality ingredients, with local products from French producers. These include organic flour from Moulin Hoche in Picardy, and the tomato sauce, a true creation of the team, worked on for six months in collaboration with the Domaine Terra cannery, made from organic tomatoes from Aquitaine, organic garlic, organic French olive oil and organic Piment d'Espelette.
After the introductions, it was time to taste the famous pizzas. On the one hand, we fell for the'Madrague' from the very first bite, a harmonious combination of octopus, lemon zest, fior di latte mozzarella, parsley and Kalamata olives.
On the other hand, our taste buds fell under the spell of the'L'été indien' pizza with artichokes, button mushrooms, delicious chanterelles, hazelnuts for crunch and a spinach coulis; simply to die for!
We hope that after these generous and delicious pizzas, you'll still have some room left, because we can only recommend that you order one of the desserts on the Riviera's à la carte menu.
Sweet pizza, lemon tart or a new twist on the tropézienne? In the end, it will be 'Le Très Chocolat', made with chocolate of course, but also olive oil, lavender and hazelnut. Here's a dessert that will seduce the taste buds of cocoa addicts.
Opposite, a real favorite: 'Le Paradis Blanc'. Undeniably fresh and gourmet, this dessert is an explosion of flavors on the palate, with its hazelnut shortbread, white chocolate ganache and fresh figs!
And to top it all off, La Riviera offers tasty cocktails, notably based on gin, but also on southern or Italian spirits. Discover several Italicus versions of the Spritz, with bergamot and grapefruit, or Galliano with artisanal Pastis and star anise. We turned to the refreshing 'Catalunya Sour' with gin, rosemary, cane sugar syrup, lime juice and egg white.
Wine lovers will opt for vintages that are 90% organic or biodynamic and 90% French, southern and transalpine.
What's more? A covered terrace. With the cold days ahead, it's ideal.
In short, we're telling you, La Riviera is the new hot spot in the 10th arrondissement, where it's great to meet up over sunny dishes.
