Warm California air blows through the capital's 2nd arrondissement. Cali Sisters is the gourmet address dreamed up by Capucine and Juliette Vigand, which celebrates California at any time of day.

Californian cuisine comes to Paris with Cali Sisters. Behind this establishment are Capucine and Juliette Vigand, two sisters with a passion for this famous state in the American West. " Everything here is beautiful, good, feel good and inspiring," they explain.

After a 2013 trip to California, the two sisters decided to do their utmost to bring this art of living to our beloved French capital. Their challenge? To open a place where the American spirit reigns, one that's both welcoming and comfortable, and where it's possible to dine at any time of day, thanks to fine Californian cuisine that's " as gourmet as it is healthy, and at a very affordable price ".

For Cali Sisters, the two sisters have imagined a luminous, bohemian address. Capucine and Juliette Vigand chose to collaborate with Heather Tierney, founder of Butcher's Daughter addresses in New York and Los Angeles.

In terms of dishes, Cali Sisters offers all the Californian classics on its menu, thanks to the talent of Chef Rhys Allen: from Lemon Pancakes to Meatballs en cocotte, including Smoked Short Rib cooked at low temperature for 72 hours to share, as well as Roasted Butternut Squash with dukkah, mint, snacked Brocolinis, cashew pesto... there's something for everyone!

During our visit, we fell in love with the truffle dice, the house revisited arancini with fried tapioca cubes, both creamy and soft, with truffle and parmesan flavors well balanced so that none of these notes outweigh the other, offering an ideal appetizer to whet the appetite.

The comforting meatballs, served in a casserole dish, also hit the spot with their sun-drenched tomato compote, accompanied by picota and parmesan. The toast that comes with this dish will make sure we don't leave a crumb.

When it's time for dessert, we're faced with a dilemma. For those with a sweet tooth and a healthy appetite, the pizookie could well win the day. Half cookie, half pizza, this thick, chewy treat, topped with melting chocolate and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, will bring the meal to an indulgent close on a regressive note.

If sugar isn't your cup of tea, but you'd still like to add a fresh finish to your meal, we'd recommend the cheesecake, with its low sugar content and creamy texture, and the tangy taste of fromage blanc enhanced by lemony accents.
