The sun is shining on Paris and summer spots open here and there. Every summer, the best spots of the City of Lights provide you with novelties, willing to make each and every one enjoy the season. Between new terraces, great rooftops and festive open-air spots, let us go and find the best places!
Today, let us meet in the opera neighborhood, on boulevard des Capucines. At the number 27, a sublime art nouveau façade catches the eyes of passersby. It is hard to miss the Kimpton Saint-Honoré. When getting into this gorgeous location, you are surrounded by a universe inspired by the Parisian lifestyle. But this time, we are not here for Montecito.
As sunny days are back in the city, it is time to go up and reach the skies. Take the elevator to the 10th floor. At the top, doors open and the smell of jasmine enchants you all, whilst you walk to the sunny terrace of Sequoia, the hotel’s second restaurant. Step by step, the magnificent views on the city stretch out. Slightly towering the surrounding roofs, this rooftop serves breathtaking views. The Eiffel Tower, the Invalides, the Opéra Garnier, the Sacred Heart… The most beautiful Parisian landmarks are all around and within reach, it seems!
The reason that took us here is no only these gorgeous views. But this summer 2022, Séquoia has decided to take us on a journey with a tacos bar. And we cannot say no to this Mexican street-food staple… And especially with such surroundings!
Now, let us move on to the “Let’s Tacos about it” menu expecting us for lunch in a unique format: three tacos from three recipes based on corn flatbread, pico de gallo, pickled red cabbage, fresh chili pepper and cilantro. Note ingredients used mostly come from short delivery systems! From this moment on, it is up to you, mix flavors and enjoy. Our curiosity pushed us to take one of each: chicken, grilled fish or seasonal vegetable (vegan). As soon as it was ordered, the chef started to work hard and make tacos to order.
The outcome is that tacos are very fresh, full of flavors and very tasty. They are also served with tortillas chips and homemade guacamole. Brilliantly uplifted with a bit of sourness, it is also found in the composition of tacos, for a bit of a twist enough to forget about lemon. Furthermore, in the evening, tacos are available on the menu, but tapas style to pair signature cocktails.
To end this exotic lunch, how about staying on a fresh note, or even an icy one? Sequoia invites us to discover tasty ice creams by Los Pistoleros, a craft ice-cream parlor set near Cannes and serving paletas, like in Mexico, with very indulging recipe, free of aromas, food dye and preservatives.
A great spot to feel like on a vacation!
