This May 26, 2022, Depeche Mode fans were mourning. Andrew Fletcher – the cofounding member of the British band – passed away at 60 years old. From this moment on, a lot of Depeche Mode fans thought the artist’s death was marking the end of the iconic new wave band. But this scenario does not seem to be part of the possibilities considered by Dave Gahan and Martin Gore from Depeche Mode.
This Tuesday October 4, 2022, the two artists were in Berlin to make a few announcements during a press conference. During this event airing live on Facebook, Dave Gahan and Martin Gore have announced the soon release of a new album called “Memento Mori”. This past September 25, the two friends shared a picture on Instagram showing a microphone. It did not take more to let fans think the band was back in the studio recording new songs.
And who says new album says new tour. Depeche Mode already announced they will return with a world tour, stopping by France in 2023, for several shows. In Paris, the British band will set fire to the Stade de France on Saturday June 24, 2023.
In addition to the capital city, the band will perform in Bordeaux (Matmut Atlantique) on May 31, in Lille (Stade Pierre Mauroy) on June 22, and Lyon (Groupama Stadium) on July 4, 2023. What about the opening of the ticketing service? If you cannot wait, enjoy the Live Nation presale and the Stade de France presale on October 10 from 10 a.m. (CEST). Or go for the general ticketing service opening on Tuesday October 11 at 10 a.m. (CEST).
For the rest of the 42-date world tour, Depeche Mode will travel to Amsterdam, Antwerp, Stockholm, Dublin, London, Munich, Copenhagen, Berlin, Rome, or even Oslo, Milan and Prague.
We can imagine how happy Depeche Mode fans are and eager to enjoy Dave Gahan and Martin Gore with new songs and their many previous hits. We can think of “Enjoy The Silence”, “Personal Jesus", “Never Let Me Down Again”, “Strange Love”, or even “Just Can’t Get Enough”.
For the record, the last show Depeche Mode performed in Paris was in 2017. At this time, the British band set fire to the Stade de France. Ready to do it all again in 2023?
