It's hard to resist the charm of Montmartre. This picturesque district of the capital attracts photographers as well as Parisians of one day and of all times who come to recharge their batteries in its maze of alleys and stairs. The charm of Montmartre works quickly while one rediscovers each time unusual scenes, details and landscapes. Among the most iconic spots of this Parisian quarter, the Maison Rose occupies a place of choice.
It is a pink house, leaning against an ivy-covered building, at the corner of rue de l'abreuvoir and rue des saules. It has become a true symbol of the charm of Montmartre, and it is said that it owes its atypical color to Laure Gargallo, known for having been a model for Picasso. When she acquired this house at the beginning of the 20th century, she painted it pink before opening an artists' café.
Today, after having been repainted in white, the Maison Rose is a neighborhood restaurant that honors French and Italian family cuisine through a menu that evolves with the seasons, all in an eco-responsible approach and by favoring local products. You can also enjoy a range of drinks made with organic ingredients.
