For this new 2024 holiday season, artisan baker Benoit Castel is once again playing the originality card... while returning to the very essence of his art, baking, with the creation of an original log made with ancient wheat that takes on the look of his famous signature petit sablé.
This original log is composed of an old-fashioned wheat cookie, particularly appreciated by Benoit Castel for his breads and pastries, and a creamy caramel with Madagascar vanilla and Batz Grand Cru fleur de sel, topped with a light, unctuous cookie cream. The result is a delicate, melt-in-the-mouth, airy log that should please even the most discerning palate.
This limited-edition 2024 Yule log can be found in Benoit Castel's three Paris boutiques, as well as at thebaker's grocery counter. Price: €45 for a creation for 6 to 8 people, and €6.50 for an individual log.
And that's not all, as Benoit Castel unveils a second, equally unusual Yule log in blackcurrant-browncurrant flavor. With a look similar to the petit cookie log, it contains a chestnut financier, a blackcurrant and blackcurrant pepper confit, a chestnut cremeux and a light blackcurrant crème. The whole is topped with a blackcurrant glaze. Price: €45 for a 6-8 person log and €6.50 for an individual log.
Last but not least, 2 other gourmet logs (45€ for 6-8 people; 6.50€ individual size) by Benoit Castel are also on the program: the petit pralin log with hazelnut dacquoise, praline crunch, praline cream, light hazelnut cream and milk chocolate topping with chopped almonds; and the all-chocolate log for connoisseurs, with chocolate crunch, chocolate cream, chocolate cookie, 70% chocolate mousse and chocolate icing!
And this year, the baker is also unveiling a Christmas rye bread (5.90€) and an Advent calendar (29€) containing 24 dark or milk chocolate bonbons, balls coated in dark or milk chocolate, almonds, hazelnuts and puffed rice.
And let's not forget the Christmas panettone, marrons glacés, adorable shortbread and addictive fruit jellies... Once again this year, you'll be spoilt for choice in Benoit Castel's boutiques, every weekend from November 30 and every day from December 14.
