The festive season is fast approaching, and it's almost time to choose which log to present to friends and family at the 2020 Christmas feast.

If you're more the haute-pâtisserie type, then the logs from Relais Desserts pastry chefs should delight your taste buds and those of your guests. Patissier-chocolatier and Meilleur Ouvrier de France Laurent Duchêne, for example, presents his new creation for Christmas 2020, the Bûche Sous-Bois .

The Bûche Sous-Bois is a rolled cake dressed not in traditional buttercream, but in a symphony of chocolate textures, combining the crunch of the grué, the lightness of the mousse and the sweetness of the cream.

While the freshness of citrus fruits recalls the pleasures of a winter stroll in the forest, the candles (entirely edible) recall the log that once enlivened the hearths of fireplaces.
