Galettes des Rois 2025 from Grande Epicerie de Paris: sweet and savoury creations to die for!

ForEpiphany 2025, La Grande Épicerie de Paris is not taking half-measures. From January 2025, head for the Left Bank foodie's den to discover galettes des rois, as beautiful as they are gourmet, designed to satisfy every craving. This year, the department store, next door to the Bon Marché Rive Gauche, is offering sweet and even savoury versions of this Epiphany classic!

On the bakery side, in addition to the classic and timeless frangipane galette, the chefs are offering an original pistachio version. Wrapped in a homemade inverted puff pastry with Charente-Poitou PDO butter, sprinkled with chopped pistachios, lies a creamy French almond frangipane flavored with Italian pistachio paste and orange blossom. A perfect alternative for purists looking for a touch of creativity in their galette.

On the pastry side, the chefs' creation gives pride of place to hazelnuts, with a heart of hazelnut almond cream enriched with shards of Gianduja. The galette is then crowned with roasted Piedmont hazelnuts, buckwheat-hazelnut praline and pieces of Gianduja.
