This year, gourmets and lovers of frangipane will be in Marly-le-Roi. Maison Haelewyn, located at 33 avenue de l'Abreuvoir, won first prize for the best 2024 almond cake in Yvelines in all three categories (Employers,Employees andApprentices). The now-famous Marly-le-Roi bakery-patisserie, run by Jimmy Haelewyn and his brother Jérôme, came out on top and won the latest edition of the department's best almond gal ette competition. Maison Haelewyn succeeds last year's winner, the bakery Au Chant du Coq (Versailles).
Jimmy Haelewyn (who already won a prize for his butter croissant this year) took first place on the podium, producing the best 2024 almond cake in Yvelines in the " Employers " category, while Benjamin Lacan, the company's head pastry chef, took first place in the " Employees " category. Finally, Selly Dembele, who also works at Maison Haelewyn, took first prize in the " Appentis " category.
