Lovers of Paris, and especially of the 6th arrondissement, the capital's mayor's office is to pay tribute to author and cartoonist Jean-Jacques Sempé, with a new site to be inaugurated in his beloved arrondissement. No details have yet been given of the exact location, but we can imagine that it will be a street renamed after the father of Petit Nicolas.
On Friday August 11, one year to the day after his death, Laurence Patrice, deputy mayor of Paris, announced thatAnne Hidalgo and the Paris City Council, in conjunction with the artist's family, had decided to pay tribute to an author whose "Paris treasures the memory of his tender poetry".
The inauguration will take place shortly. We'll keep you posted on the details of this tribute as they become available.
One year ago, #Sempé passed away. Paris treasures the memory of his tender poetry. As announced by @Anne_Hidalgo and in accordance with the wish of the Paris Council, in conjunction with his family we will soon inaugurate a place in his name at 💜 de #Paris6 which he loved so much. #memoire pic.twitter.com/JXU6iGELpm
