There were 76 entries. In the end, only one pastry chef emerged victorious from the new and 15th edition of the trophy for the best pastry in Greater Paris. This year, participants handed in their creations on February 7 at the headquarters of the Greater Paris bakers' union, so that the jury could taste them and select the lucky winner.
To compete for first place, pastry chefs from Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne were asked to submit a batch of 8 individual-sized pastries, comprising 4 chocolate éclairs and 4 non-meringue lemon tarts. Based on several criteria (presentation, cream, baking, taste harmony...), the jury delivered its verdict on Friday February 9, 2024. So, what are this year's winners? After deliberation, Eddy Decouacon of Boulogne-Billancourt 's boulangerie de La République came out on top, taking first place on the podium.
The Hauts-de-Seine pastry chef was followed by Frédéric Antunès from Au Fournil du Château in Vincennes. Finally, Olivier Marquez Montez Aires from Maison Valeria in Champigny-sur-Marne, Val-de-Marne, came third in the Paris region rankings.
