On the esplanade des Invalides, a former air terminal is set to become a new cultural venue in the heart of Paris. We tell you more about Aerog'art, a project due to be completed by 2027.

Did you know? Theesplanade des Invalides in Paris, where you can see the iconic monument with its golden dome, is also home to a former air terminal, a relic of the 1900 Universal Exhibition. This little-known treasure of the capital is preparing to be reborn following a call for projects Réinventer Paris II. By 2027, theInvalides air terminal will becomeAérog'art, a cultural living space that should reconcile the love of art with that of gastronomy.

According to the SemPariSeine website, the project, on which work is due to start in 2024, will occupy 7,500m2 spread over 4 levels. It will feature an exhibition space showcasing the Métiers d'Art, a Grande Halle where families can discover the Oli Oli children's museum, a M.I.A.M (Marché des Invalides dedicated to Multigenerational Food) food hall and the Chez Françoise restaurant. A patio will link the terminal to the Grande Halle, and a monumental staircase will provide access from the Esplanade des Invalides to the sub-slab where the Grande Halle is located.

As the project progresses, open days and guided tours of the site will be organized to enable the general public, and local residents in particular, to follow its progress.
