La Nuit des Musées is the European event that allows us to visit the most beautiful museums and monuments in our own backyard, during an exceptional, and often free, nocturne! Hundreds of cultural venues invite you to discover their treasures, and offer a variety of activities to brighten up your visit.
Luckily, the Musée Bourdelle is taking part in this 20th edition of the Nuit des Musées, this Saturday, May 18, 2024. The museum, which houses the former workshops of sculptor Antoine Bourdelle, is unveiling its program and treasures. The collection is exceptional: hundreds of Bourdelle's works are on display in the artist's studio, giving visitors a unique insight into his creative process.
Antoine Bourdelle is known as one of the most talented and influential sculptors of his time, with a remarkable artistic career that spanned almost six decades. A master of monumental sculpture, he produced works that are now icons of the city of Paris, such as the famous "La France" on the Pont Alexandre III.

Bourdelle was also an eminent teacher, training generations of talented artists in the famous studio on rue Antoine-Bourdelle that now houses the museum we know today. His powerful, expressive style inspired many artists and continues to inspire today, making him one of the greatest French sculptors of all time.
You can admire the museum's permanent collections, made up of a large number of sculptures (plaster casts, bronzes, marbles, stones, terracotta and sandstone), as well as drawings, photographs (the artist's other passion), paintings and archival documents tracing the sculptor's life. You can also immerse yourself in the artistic atmosphere and enjoy the beauty and calm of the garden, a veritable oasis of greenery in the heart of the city.
Le programme est mis à jour en fonction des annonces officielles.
A great opportunity to rediscover around a hundred sculptures, drawings, photographs, archive documents of the sculptor, but above all Bourdelle's artist's studio, reproduced thanks to photographic evidence. Shall we go, friends?
