The Olympic Games Opening Ceremony is just around the corner! As a reminder, it will take place on July 26, 2024 from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm in Paris! A true river spectacle, with a 6 km course on the Seine, it's the first time that an opening ceremony will take place under the open sky.
In Paris, numerous bleachers have been set up for several weeks now on the lower quays and on some bridges to accommodate 100,000 ticket-paying spectators from all over the world. On the upper quays, 222,000 spectators who have managed to get free tickets are expected to attend, but how are the non-stadium seating arrangements for the opening ceremony organized, and how visible will they be?
If you're lucky enough to have tickets for the Quais Hautes, get ready to stand for the whole ceremony! The Quais Hautes are divided into sixteen sections all along the Seine, from the Quai Henri-IV to the Quai Branly. While we still don't know exactly how each section will be organized, we do know that watching the opening ceremony from the upper quays will allow you to fully experience the atmosphere of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony , with music and refreshment points, but not necessarily to have optimal visibility .

Here again, the answer is unclear. It depends on which section of the high platforms you're on, but also on the number of people in your section, as there will be no overhead seating. On the other hand, in case of reduced visibility, the ceremony will be broadcast on giant screens (65 screens are planned along the entire route), and above all, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics should also have part of its show organized in the air! All you have to do is look up to admire the spectacle.
The 16 sections vary in size, but will all be equipped with toilets, water fountains and refreshment areas. For those arriving as early as 3.30pm, please bring umbrellas or raincoats, as a few drops are to be expected. Please note that doors to the upper quays open at 3.30pm and close at 6.30pm.
