For the swimming event, athletes will set off from the pontoon at Pont Alexandre III. For the cycling event, they will start their race at the Pont Alexandre III and then head for the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, before joining the Avenue Montaigne, the Rue François 1er, the Pont des Invalides, the Quai d'Orsay, the Boulevard Saint-Germain, the Rue du Bac, the Quai Anatole France, the Quai d'Orsay, and finally the Pont Alexandre III (7 laps).
Finally, for the runners, the start will also be on the Pont Alexandre III. Triathletes will then take the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, then the Avenue Montaigne, the Rue François 1er, the Pont des Invalides, the Quai d'Orsay, and finish their race on the Pont Alexandre III (4 laps).
To coincide with this major sporting event, the Préfecture de police de Paris issued a press release on July 28 announcing the introduction of special traffic arrangements.
As a result, road traffic is likely to be " severely disrupted, in the center of the capital (Paris 7 and Paris 8) ", says the Préfecture de police, which specifies that these triathlon events will take place on July 30, 2024 from 8am for the men's triathlon and on July 31, 2024 from 8am for the women's triathlon. However, if these events have to be cancelled due to weather or poor water quality in the Seine, then they will be rescheduled for August 2.
The preparatory tests, originally scheduled for July 28 and 29, were cancelled.

The mixed relay triathlon is scheduled for August 5, 2024, starting at 8 a.m., or August 6 if required. The preparatory event for the mixed relay cycling and running race is set for August 3.
As a result, " measures regulating parking (from July 26 to August 7) and traffic (on July 28, 29, 30 and 31 in the first part of the day, and on August 3 and 5 in the first part of the day) have been taken by decree " announces the Prefecture.
The Préfecture de police announces that the perimeters around the course will be set up 3 hours before the start of each competition. " Residents of the red perimeters and authorized persons will be able to access them by vehicle up to 1h30 before the start of each road race ", adds the Préfecture de police. " The system will be gradually released 15 minutes after the last competitor has passed through," it adds. In addition, local residents will be able to cross the perimeter at " identified shear points " until 6 a.m. on August 3, until 5.30 a.m. on July 30 and 31, and on August 5 and 6 (where applicable). In view of the major traffic disruption, the Préfecture de Policeis advising motorists to " avoid the area for the duration of the event ".
