If you've ever dreamed of seeing Brian Eno perform live, now's your chance! The legendary British musician, arranger and producer, who has collaborated with the likes of David Bowie, the Talking Heads, John Cale and U2, has announced a mini European tour this autumn. Dubbed"Ships", this first series of Brian Eno solo concerts - the first live tour in the musician's 5-decade solo career - will make a stopover in France, with a single concert scheduled for Thursday, October 26, 2023 at La Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt.
During these exclusive concerts, which will also include stops in Berlin, Utrecht and London, Brian Eno will present"Ships", commissioned by the Venice Biennale and featuring an orchestral adaptation of the album"The Ship", as well as new compositions and Eno classics.
And Brian Eno won't be alone on this tour, as he'll be joined by the Baltic Sea Philharmonic, conducted and orchestrated by conductor Kristjan Järvi.
There are more surprises in store for this performance, including an appearance by actor Peter Serafinowicz and long-time Brian Eno collaborators, including guitarist Leo Abrahams and keyboardist/programmer Peter Chilvers.
Needless to say, this musical event is not to be missed, especially as it will be the British artist's first performance with an orchestra!
" The album 'The Ship' is an unusual work in that it uses vocals but doesn't particularly rely on the song format. It's an atmosphere with occasional characters drifting around, lost in the vague space created by the music. In the background, there's a sense of wartime inevitability. There's also a breadth that suits an orchestra, and a sense of many people working together," said Brian Eno in a statement.
To discover Brian Eno in concert on a Parisian stage, come to La Seine Musicale on October 26, 2023. Don't miss the ticket office opening on Thursday June 8 at 11am.
