" Dead Man ", " Coffee and Cigarettes ", " Broken Flowers ", " The Limits of Control ", " Paterson " or " The Dead Don't Die "... it's hard to list all the films made by Jim Jarmusch since the early 80s. With his new film, " Father, Mother, Sister, Brother ", due to be unveiled shortly, the American director and screenwriter will be stopping off in Paris for a one-off concert at La Cigale on Monday, July 7, 2025.
For Jim Jarmusch is not only a talented director, but also a musician with a passion for sharp riffs. He's been playing guitar in bands on and off since the late 70s, as with the SQÜRL project. Proof of his love of music, Jim Jarmusch has directed music videos for a number of rock artists, including Tom Waits, Neil Young, The Raconteurs and Cat Power. He is also a close friend of Patti Smith and Nick Cave.
For this unique concert in Paris, Jim Jarmusch will be accompanied by Dutch minimalist composer and lute player Jozef Van Wissem. The two met in 2006 on the streets of New York. A friendship was born, followed by an artistic collaboration. In October 2011, the two friends gave their very first concert together, at the Issue Project Room in Brooklyn to be precise. One thing led to another, and their debut album,"Concerning the Entry Into Eternity", was released in 2012, quickly followed by"The Mystery of Heaven".
This summer, the sound of Jozef Van Wissem 's lute will mingle with Jim Jarmusch 's guitar riffs in this unique Parisian concert at La Cigale on July 7, 2025. If you'd like to see and hear Jim Jarmusch live in Paris, book your tickets now!
