The"Solidarité Congo" concert, originally scheduled for April 7, 2025 at the Accor Arena in Paris, has been postponed. The organizers issued a statement on their social networks on March 27. " It is with regret, but with responsibility, that we announce the postponement of the Solidarité Congo concert," they wrote on Instagram. " This decision has been imposed on us by the administrative authorities, despite all our efforts to maintain this unprecedented mobilization in conditions of respect, peace and solidarity," they added. The organizers confirm that"a new date will be announced very shortly". "Those unable to attend will of course be reimbursed", they added.
Artists are mobilizing to support child victims of the ongoing conflict in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. As our RFI colleagues revealed in an article published on March 5, the education sector is " directly impacted " by this conflict. While " some schools have been reduced to ashes or damaged, others have become refugee camps ".
So a number of artists have decided to take action in the face of this conflict and raise awareness of the situation of children. How did they do it? By taking part in a major charity concert at theAccor Arena in Paris. Called " Solidarité Congo ", this musical event will benefitUNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund.
For the occasion, several leading figures from the urban music world will be present, including the unmissable Gims, named "Male Artist of the Year" at the recent Victoires de la Musique awards. Also announced are Youssoupha and Guy2bezbar, not forgetting other leading African music artists such as the talented Angélique Kidjo, Soolking and Gazo. You'll also find influencers and committed personalities such as Didistone and Nordine Ganso.
