Music is rich and varied. While some are passionate about rock or metal, others only listen to rap and hip-hop, while still others prefer classical music or electro. Then there are the die-hard fans of French variété and chanson.
While a number of artists have set the standard in this field, such as Jacques Brel, Léo Ferré, Georges Brassens, Daniel Balavoine, Michel Berger and Barbara, young talents such as Zaho de Sagazan, Clara Ysé, Clara Luciani and Juliette Armanet emerge every year. These are artists who demonstrate the full extent of their talent on stage, on tours that can sometimes be lengthy.
More and more French variety singers are invading the capital's concert halls, including theOlympia, the Maroquinerie, the Cigale and the Zénith de La Villette, as well as theAccor Arena and Paris La Défense Arena.
In recent months, Zaz, Renaud, Etienne Daho and Michel Polnareff have performed atParis's Accor Arena in the 12th arrondissement, Salle Pleyel in the 8th and Folies Bergère in the 9th.
In the near future, other French variety artists are planning to do the same, paying tribute to this musical style which is so popular with the French, and which brings many VF fans and enthusiasts together in a festive and convivial atmosphere.
