After sending us to the moon, making us see the world in 2D and taking us to meet the last indigenous cultures, the Atelier des Lumières unveils a new immersive adventure this autumn. This time, it's an experience that could well take your breath away, as Paris' 1st digital art center takes us 20,000 leagues under the sea. From October 20, 2023 to January 7, 2024, we invite you to discover "Oceans, l'Odyssée Immersive".
As a reminder, theAtelier des Lumières offers immersive exhibitions using video-mapping projected onto the walls and floor of a former foundry in Paris. An atypical space that provides a great playground for the artists and creators behind these unusual experiences.
Océans, l'Odyssée Immersive offers an underwater escapade through the eye of Brian Skerry, renowned photographer for National Geographic. He has spent more than 10,000 hours on the seabed over the past 40 years capturing aquatic life. The exhibition takes us in turn to tropical, temperate and polar seas, to meet multicolored fish hidden in the reefs, microscopic crustaceans, large predators... to discover marine fauna from every angle.
We then discover projections that skilfully exploit the different spaces of the site, from the pool to the hall of mirrors, right down to the floor, which transforms under our feet. Additional information on the different species represented in images awaits you, and the exhibition is aimed at adults and children alike, offering us moments of lightness, as well as more poetic and contemplative moments. A wonderful experience that we highly recommend!
