Is chocolate your hobby? Your fuel, your reason for living (or almost)? Then Hoct&Loca should satisfy that sudden, compulsive craving for gourmet cocoa. Opened just a few weeks ago, this new chocolate salon has a lot to tempt us.
Discover the place on video, presented by its creator:
We're off to the heart of Paris, to the stronghold of gourmandise, 99 rue de la Verrerie in Paris. On arrival, we discover a spacious tearoom with plenty of tables to sit and enjoy, all in a modern, relaxed atmosphere.
In front of us, a large counter with pastries and waffles on one side, then milk chocolates flowing in fountains, chocolate covers for ice creams and fountains of dark chocolate on the other.
There's something for everyone. The chocolate bar offers 4 grands crus from different origins, ranging from the mildest to the most intense: Venezuela 72%, Madagascar 64%, fruity Brazil 55% and milk Caribbean 46%. Added to this are 2 milk chocolates flavored with caramel and hazelnut.
These chocolates are kept at a constant 32° for ideal temperature. It is with these melted chocolates that all the preparations are made (except for the ice creams, which are plunged directly into the appropriate tubs).
For hot chocolate, for example, you pour 30g of chocolate into a glass, then add hot milk to taste and stir with a whisk. It's up to you to decide whether you prefer it thicker or looser. Do you like coffee and chocolate? You're free to choose a chocolate coffee.
In addition to cookies and muffins, you'll find waffles, cheesecakes and profiteroles topped generously with chocolate. Don't know what to choose? Opt for the gourmet coffee!
It's not the season yet, but is there really a season for ice cream? We love the generous cone that's easy to gobble up.
