Established since March 2017 on rue de Médicis, just outside the Jardin du Luxembourg, Jean Pierre Dewerpe and Djamal Nasli Bakir are two satisfied gourmands with their baby. Its name: Choco Factory, a concept somewhere between a chocolate factory and a neighborhood café, where chocolate is king!
Before opening this address, they travelled through the United States, the land of surprising concepts, and Switzerland, the home of groundhogs who put chocolate in tinfoil. Then, with their heads full of ideas, they returned to Paris. The key word? Gourmandise. The ingredient? Chocolate!
At this Parisian café-style address, gourmands can indulge their chocolate cravings. There's plenty of chocolate to go around: it runs in three fountains, decorates cakes, and is even used as a background color... at Choco Factory, they live their passion to the full.
The little ones are absorbed by the candy jars as soon as they arrive (we'll tell you about their use in a chocolate factory in a moment).
On our side, we notice the blackboard with the twenty or so cups presenting the drinks to be drunk on the spot (but without the prices): Speculooso chocolate, choco cookie macchiato or the classic chocolate and Marshmallows, (ideal for winter!) and next to them, the menu of freakshakes, demonic chocolate milkshakes, which can be personalized with ALL the sweets (you know, the ones that the (big) kids spotted as soon as they entered)...
The founder, Jean Pierre Dewerpe, then invites us to sit down and bring us the menu. And that's when we made our big discovery:pure madness.Choco Factory doesn't just make drinking chocolates: chocolate and fruit fondue, chocolate-covered Italian ice cream (la trempette), pancake cones with bananas, strawberries, whipped cream and chocolate, cheesecake, cookins, a crazy mix between muffins and cookies... heaven (or hell, for those with a sweet tooth!).
It's simple, we thought we were going crazy, and when he explained that we could create our own chocolate bar with the sweets from the starter, we screamed! How to choose: speculoos, tagada strawberries, praline-coated almonds, over 40 jars waiting for us and we had to choose 3, 3 for the perfect trio. For us, it was pink pralines, candied raspberries and marshmallows for 5.5€...
Once out of this hellish store, we couldn't resist tasting it, and then it was heaven... Watch the video!
