Rodolphe Landemaine and Yoshimi Ishikawa have opened a 100% plant-based bakery and patisserie in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.
Named Land&Monkeys, this bakery revisits traditional bakery in a way that respects life and the planet, with recipes that are 100% plant-based yet gourmet, going against preconceived ideas about veganism!
Here, no eggs or butter, and even less milk and cream, but carefully selected organic, local and seasonal products, like the flours of Moulins de Brasseuil, grown less than 200km from Paris and organically farmed, or Maison Valrhona, which runs education programs with local producers in Ghana.
The breads, viennoiseries, pastries, snacks, groceries and beverages that cover the stalls of Land&Monkeys are aimed at all lovers of artisanal French bakery, vegans or not! You'll find all the classics you'd expect to find in a bakery, but in a vegan version, and even a ham and butter, without real ham or butter, that's truer than nature!
So, will you let yourself be tempted by a croissant, a cookie, a mille-feuille, a quiche or even a plant-based croque-monsieur? In addition to excluding all ingredients of animal origin (meat, milk, eggs, honey, etc.), the Land&Monkeys team is committed to donating 2% of its profits to animal protection associations , and we say yes!
Don't miss this year's novelty, the Hazelia, for a concentrate of hazelnuts in a pastry with different textures, between hazelnut crunch, light mousse and vanilla & chocolate ganache! Until the end of December 2023, enjoy a delicious little gingerbread monkey bearing the bakery's logo, purchased in support of the Jane Goodall Institute's work in Burundi's Kibira National Park.
