On November 9, 1989, after dismissing GDR chief administrative officer Erich Honecker, the council of ministers decides to open the Berlin wall and its boundaries. Thousands of Eastern and Western Berliners gather around the wall of shame to celebrate the end of 28 years of splitting.
A year after the fall of the wall, 118 artists from 21 countries meet to create the longest open-air mural in the world. This “East Side Gallery” – still visible today in Berlin – chose to focus on the division of Berlin and its recovered unicity.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, chocolate-maker Patrick Roger has created an original homage: a replica of the Berlin wall made out of chocolate.
All in all, it required a ton (!) of chocolate to create this 7-meter long and 3.60-meter high work. A piece to discover in the windows of the store set in Paris 8th arrondissement, starting late October. Then on November 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m., a part of the wall will be symbolically destroyed.
As for you, gourmands, you can discover in store dark chocolate aerosol sprays filled with almonds, created by the chocolate maker himself!
