Cova is the famous literary café that opened in Milan in 1817, a stone's throw from La Scala. Verdi, Puccini, Hemingway and Maria Callas all paraded here. It then moved to Via Montenapoleone, the fashion district, to delight lovers of fine Italian pastries.
If a ticket to Italy is a little too expensive for you, you can now treat yourself in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, just opposite the Samaritaine, to a large café-tea room with a spacious terrace. Cova is the ideal spot to relax at any time of day.
In the morning, you can enjoy a 10€ homemade breakfast consisting of a coffee, tea or cappuccino with a croissant and a surprise pastry. The menu includes Italian coffees, detox and healthy juices, eggs and pancakes.
At lunchtime, it's all about sandwiches! Paninis and other tramezzinis are available for lunch, accompanied by a good pastry, a dessert in a bowl, or even an Italian ice cream, and you're all set.
From 4pm, it's time for the famous Italian tea time. For 38€, you can enjoy an assortment of homemade sandwiches and tartines, a choice of viennoiserie and a range of the chef's pastry creations, accompanied by a selection of homemade teas. You can also opt for the champagne version at 58€, which also includes a tasting of Cova pralines.
