It's an opening that's already causing quite a stir. Since September 30, 2023, the Opéra district of Paris has been home to a new ultra-gourmet address dedicated, solely and exclusively, to New York-inspired cookies. The name? The Delambre Bakery! Those who have already made the trip to Lille will be familiar with this tempting spot, which opened its doors in the northern city in 2021.
Behind The Delambre Bakery are Cinthia, a pastry chef of Mexican origin, and Benjamin, a French press attaché exiled in Canada. They fell in love at first sight in New York's Times Square district. In 2021, the young couple decided to embark on a new adventure: cookies. But not just any cookies: New York-style cookies, with their crisp outside and soft inside. Having seduced the taste buds of many Lille residents during the Covid-19 period, the couple opened their first store in old Lille a few months later. Success was not long in coming, as long queues quickly formed in front of The Delambre Bakery, the name of their first spot.
In September 2023, The Delambre Bakery team took another step forward by opening their second location... in Paris this time! Located at N°62 rue de la Chaussée-d'Antin, this boutique sells the now-famous New York-style cookies that have become so popular. On the menu? The brand's eight signature cookies, " plus a few seasonal surprises ", such as a pumpkin or cinnamon cookie to be launched soon, not forgetting original short-lived cookies.
On the menu right now? The "New Yorker" cookie, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, with chocolate chips for an ultra gourmet touch. Another house staple is"The Original Gangster", generously filled with dark chocolate and walnuts. And we can't resist"Double Speculoos", a speculoos cookie with a melting speculoos heart. To die for!
As for the rest, discover the"Creamy Hazelnut" (with a hazelnut cream fondant heart, hazelnut pieces and chocolate), the "Daim" cookie which, as its name suggests, is made with Daim and caramelized chocolate, the"Chocolate tuxedo" (a three-chocolate cookie), or the"Red Velvet" (a mix of white chocolate, cocoa and vanilla) and the"Peanut butter". All nicely served in New York-style newspaper bags.
As in Lille, these generous and delicious cookies in Paris are made by hand, without the use of molds, using quality products from short supply chains (free-range eggs, country butter from the Lille region and great Belgian chocolate).
So make a point of visiting The Delambre Bakery in Paris's 9th arrondissement, to savor these addictive New York-style cookies!
